AL Zaharwai
Al Zaharwai is considered to be the greatest medival suregon. His comprehhencive medical texet shaped European surgical procedures up until the Renaissance. His greatest contribution to historyis 'Kitab al-Tasrif,' a thirty-volume collection medical practice, of which large portion were translated into Latin, and into other European languages.
It was used as standard reference work in the subject in all yhe universites of Europe for over 500 years. The content of the book show thet Al Zaharwai was not only medical scholar, but a greatpraticing physician and suregon.
The book contain the earliest picture of surgical instrument in history. Zaharwai classified 325 diseases, and disscussed their symptoms and treatements. He also describe, for the first time in medical history, a haemorrhagic disease transmitted by mother to their male children. Today, this disease called haemophilia.
