What was the important contribution made by Andreas Vesalius?

Andreas Vesalius was a Belgian physician whose dissections of the human body, and descriptions of his findings, helped to correct many existing misconceptions. All his research findings were recorded in a book called 'On the Fabric of the Human Body.' This book was considered to have the most beautiful drawings and sketches of such wonders as the incredible precision of the human muscles.
In fact, Vesalius' exceptionally detailed muscle drawings in this book changed medical history for all time. His discoveries covered the skeletal system, vascular system, muscular and circulatory system, nervous system abdominal organs, the heart and brain.
Vesalius proved that all nerves come not from the heart, but from the brain. He declared that the brain is the transmitter of sensation and motion, and that it is the brain, that make us function. It is no wonder the n that 'On the Fabric of the Human Body'is considered to be a miolestone in medical science.
