Claude Bernard was a French physiologist. He is considered to be the Father of Modern experimental Physiology.' physiology is the biological study of the function living organisim and their part.
Claude Bernard's first important works were carried out on the physiology of digestion. By disssecting animals, he discovered the way in which animals and humans digest their food. He was intrested in the role of pancreas exoxrine gland, the gatric juices, and of the inestines.
In 1857, he established that pancreas wsa involved in digestion fat and the liver produced sugar. In addtion to this, Bernard also made other important contributions to the neurosciences, such as the study of sensory nerves. Widely credited as one of the foundes of experimental medicien, Bernard played a vital role in laying down the basic rule of experimentation in the life sciences.
